Megashift to Mac OS X(Permanent)!
Finally, I have made my shift to the most advanced operating system in the world (not to mention the hardest to setup on non-Apple hardware), Mac OS X Lion! This marks the last date of Ubuntu being the primary operating system of my workstation. From now on, OS X will be ruling over the boot menu.

Why Mac OS X? This is a question that I really can’t answer. I won’t be lying about the “hype” in the developer community reagarding OS X and also can’t just blow off the number of tools available for Web Developers on this platform. I also prefer the stunning visuals of this specific operating system.

Why not Mountain Lion? Because, Mountain Lion doesn’t support my graphics card out-of-the-box. I really wasted a lot of time testing and trying out kernel extensions (which don’t work), so I decided to stay with the older Lion which has built-in out of the box support for my AMD Raedon HD5450 Card (Sapphire). I am really too much lazy to edit kexts and stuff (at this moment).

Is your system stable? Can you work one hour at a strech? You bet! Is is super-stable on my current hardware configuration with NO CUSTOM Kernel Extensions (or kexts). Every one of my hardware is supported by the operating system itself. So, I really don’t have any unwanted crashes or kernel panics during bootup or while working.

What are your favorite apps on OS X? PyCharm, WebStorm, iTunes, SourceTree, iTerm, MPlayerX, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, iWork Suite…
Hoping to enjoy this operating system more than anything I witnessed before. Although I had issues getting Ruby, rbenv working properly, it is normal to face difficulties first time using a new operating system. Rock on OS X!
