Names are powerful. I love the name my parents chose for me.

অনিরুদ্ধ (Aniruddha), a Bengali name, has Sanskrit origins and means “unobstructed,” “unstoppable,” or “one who cannot be restrained.”

As a student, young professional, and eventually a public officer, I felt my name gave me strength to push through obstacles. My name gave me a sense of assurance, power, and certainty.

Now, I admire the elegance of Chinese names. Three characters to express individuality.

安毅达 (Ān Yì Dá)

• 安 (Ān) means “peace” or “security”
• 毅 (Yì) means “determined” or “unwavering”
• 达 (Dá) means “to achieve” or “to attain”

While I won’t be using this name for day-to-day work soon, when the time comes, I’m ready!
